I know this is a golf rangefinder, but can it be used in the field as a hunting rangefinder? I have a chance to pick one up at a good price. Thanks in advance

Only if you place your targets or hunt on the putting greens
. I am not a golfer, but I think most of them should be able to range a target, tree, animal, and ugly golfer, similarly as a hunting model, and should be adequate for airgun use. Not sure if they have angle compensation features. When I was researching rangefinders awhile back on Amazon, I know that was a common question and I recall they always said yes, you could use a golf RF for hunting. You should be able to download a manual from Leupold and get a sense if it will work for your needs.
