Leupold Alumina flip caps VERY hard to open and close?

I have the Alumina scope caps on my Leupold and have noticed that they are super hard to open and close. The eye-piece cap isn't as bad because it has a lever that you use to open but the objective cap takes a couple very firm presses to close and way too much effort to open. I think this is caused by the oring that makes them watertight but not sure.



Is this just how they are? Has anyone else experienced this and how did you remedy it? Thanks!

My eyepiece cover is easy to open and close. The objective cover is a bit more difficult, but not overly hard to open and close. Sorry I can't be more help.

No worries mmahoney. I used my brain for once and just wiped a slight bit of superlube on the o-ring that seals the flip cap And made sure to wipe away all the excess. They snap closed easily and open even easier. Can't believe I didn't think of it sooner though lol.
