Lets talk Turkey. A preview.

$379 refurb compliments of Pyramyd Air. It's a .22 Kral Puncher Pro.

So far, I've: polished the bolt, bolt guide and hammer. Cleaned and polished/deburred the receiver. Performed some minor re-shaping of the sear, polished the sear-trigger interface surfaces, cut 2.5 coils from the actual trigger spring (currently adjusted to a Very crisp 12 oz second stage break-Zero creep) Cleaned and polished the barrel, 1st with JB bore paste then followed with Flitz..then Ballistol. The factory crown looks quite good,so I didn't touch it. Slapped on a Discovery 4-16x44 VTR mildot scope.

Since I was "elbow-deep in the neckbone pot", I added 9 coats of Minwax Antique Oil to the stock. I really wasn't expecting much for 379 bucks...but the stock is a dandy!

Tomorrow is testing/initial adjustment day and I have high hopes! There will be numbers, pictures and results soon. Boy,if it shoots like it looks...Woo HOOO!

MScottLeeman,

Wow, you've been busy! Nice work with everything that you did before even shooting it!
I do some/most of the same types of things with my powder-burner bench rest .22 LRs..
It's really cool to hear that you just went through all those processes with your PCP.

Your trigger lightening method sounds like it worked Perfectly. Awesome!
I like a 'dangerously light' trigger pull too, but haven't messed with my air rifles - yet..

Cosmetics wise - Very nicely done!
I'm usually not a fan of wood stocks, but your top-coating looks impressive.
I can just imagine how much nicer that must look when under some better/brighter lighting!

Can't wait to hear how you make out testing / accuracy / consistency wise..

Have fun and best of luck!

🙂👍

Thanks guys! Out of the box (case!) the trigger was AWFUL! ..and the action was stiffer than a tequila milkshake. The barrel was quite clean and the rifle showed slight signs of use. Between the trigger and cocking action,I can see why it was returned. Forgot to mention that I also fabricated/added a nylon hammer spring guide as the stock setup was Sloppy as Hell! I always loved the looks of this rifle and the price was right. The Pro 500 has my eye and I'm Thinking of getting one in .25 since I've now got this and a Puncher Breaker in .22 (It's a friggin Lazer!).

I don't see myself as some "Highly Talented" tuner kinda guy. Just an ordinary airgun nut who loves to tinker. (Just can't leave poop alone.LMAO! )
