Leshiy question

I had the slow first couple shots issue with my gun but it was the Huma reg. Yours might be valve related. A Leshiy is capable of insane velocity if you keep cranking on the hammer spring but it is not healthy for the gun. Who knows what the previous owner did. Here is what I would do. Inspect the white valve for damage. If none assemble the gun. Yes, finger tight. Turn your HS full clockwise until it stops then back it out 5 clicks. Start shooting one shot at a time over the chronograph and record the speed of each shot. When it finally stays the same or drops in velocity, turn the HS back in 2 clicks. See if your problem goes away. That’s how you tune your Leshiy for whatever reg pressure your gun is set at.

Hi. I know this is a very old post but I'm having this exact issue with my edgun leshiy since I installed the huma regulator (regular huma not the sub 12 fpe). The stock regulator never caused any issues but since installing the huma regulator, if I leave the gun overnight I notice the pressure (on the gauge) drops about 20 bars. And then the first 5 or 6 shots are extremely slow (each shot gets a bit faster). For example if it is tuned to 750 fps, first shot is 450fps, then 470fps then 550 fps, then 625 fps then 700 fps..etc.. also during this first part of the shot string (while the speed is still increasing) the preasure gauge doesn't decrease with each shot. So I'm assuming overnight the plenum is actually getting to the same preasure as the air tube and the first shots are purely from the plenum not using any air from the air tube till preasure in the plenum decreases to the set reg preasure, right?
So now comes the question: why is this happening? A faulty o ring. Which one? Should I change all o rings or is it usually a specific one?

Thank you very much for your reply. Just a quick question: the outside o rings are easy to change. There are two small o rings (one really small and one bigger) inside the regulator. I can easily change those. But I noticed a small o ring also inside the regulator on the 'screw' that one turns to adjust the reg preasure. I'm not sure how to get to that o ring. Is it important to change that one? How can I get to it? Do I totally unscrew that 'screw'? If yes, how would I get it back to where it was initially? I mean how do I return it to the previous set preasure? Count how many turn it took to get it out and do the same number of turns while screwing back in? If you think this o ring is for sure not the issue then I think I prefer not messing with that screw. Any info would be much appreciated.

You are really testing my memory. The gun has been at my dads house for two years and it’s been at least 3 since I looked inside it. But I’m 95% sure you don’t need to worry about the tiny one on the piston. The gun I worked on the other night and my Lelya last summer both had the big oring on the spool go south. When you remove the snap ring, find a screw that threads into the brass piece to pull it out. It’s probably a M3 x .5 screw. Face the adjustment screw towards the ceiling and wiggle the brass spool out the bottom making sure the spring washers stay on the spool. You don’t want them flying because how they are stacked is important. The big oring on the bottom of the spool is probably the culprit. If you opt to replace the small oring on the adjustment screw just take your calipers and measure the overall length of the reg before you unscrew it.

FYI if the O-ring on the brass adjuster is in the early stages of failing (micro cracks or extrusion failure) it will produce the symptom you described. The pressure from the reservoir will slowly bypass the O-ring and elevate the output pressure, and the first shots will be trying to overcome valve lock, and therefore slow.

A badly worn seat (plastic disc) will do something similar.
