I noticed something kind of interesting while I was watching a YT review on the Leshiy. It would appear that the breech cracks open a little after each shot when reg pressure is set fairly high. Fast forward to the shot taken at exactly 32mins to get a perfect visual of what I mean..

I won't be able to see if this occurs with my Leshiy until late tomorrow, but I have to wonder if this causes any loss in useable airflow 👀
 
Yeah I can see what you're saying...jumping around through the video, I see the breech shift slightly on every shot.

The pressure pulse should just slam the O-ring to expand it and instantaneously prevent the loss of air. Given the location of the potential leak, my guess is it would be immediately obvious to the shooter. Also, a leaky breech tends to produce a wild ES and the way he's ringing the plates at 100m, I think his is doing fine.

No kidding. It took me a bit to notice it at first but it is happing. It seems only a small amount but looks like it could be enough to cause some air to escape. I might check mine out later and see if it is doing it as well. I do not have any kind of power tune or anything but I am still curious. I guess as long as its not causing any issues its fine.

With his reg set at 150bar that hammer spring must be waxing the valve lol There is a guy that posts videos here occasionally and he has converted his Leshiy to .357, you would think he would have seen the same thing? Ernest Rowe used a .30 barrel on his Leshiy as well and I don't think it was a problem (at least never heard about it)? Maybe the spring in the chisel detent on that guys Leshiy is weak?

I haven't heard of this being an issue before but it is def. happening to that guys Leshiy. Interested to see what you find when you try yours mtnGhost, I only have a .177 barrel so I have not noticed this.

Mine definitely cracks open a little bit, although not so much that I'm concerned. I also took a shot with a little dish soap and water solution on the side to see if it sprayed anything off to the right, which it didn't thankfully.

It's set at 135bar and 21 ccw on the HST. I'm guessing it's more of the force from the hammer striking the valve.

That’s not opening, that’s flexing. You have that absolutely pegged. I would dial that reg pressure and HST down. You’re putting way too much stress on that, and there’s really no gains from doing it. 

You can shoot a 25gr pellet 800 FPS with 105 bar on the reg with the 250mm barrel: Phil designed that huma reg for lower pressure. You are pushing that way too high, and I think you’re asking for trouble, or at the very least causing unnecessary stress and wear.

The Huma-Air website states that it was designed for 75-150bar to cover all calibers. 130-135 bar is between that range.

Whatever. I don't know you from Adam, but judging the things you're saying you're little (way) off base. I've had 25gr JSBs coming out as high as 942, I'd consider that a gain - although doing some reading I can see how someone like you prefers the slowest speeds for .177. To each their own, do you and I'll stick with doing me.

I'll contact Huma-Air and point them at your claims to see what they say. Maybe they'll update their product descriptions with a warning about going over 105bar.

Considering the factory reg comes preset to 130bar straight from EDgun I would say you are fine but just my opinion...

mtnGhost, does your Leshiy jump like a mofo when you shoot? When I shot my Leshiy like it came from EDgun West (15fpe .177) it jumped quite a bit and had an awful twang from the hammer spring. I just imagine those who tune their .22 and .25 Leshiy for higher speeds must have to deal with the gun recoiling a lot?

Oh yeah! It jumps alright :) .. Nothing like some of my powder burners though 😎

This Accu-Tac SR-5 G2 helped a lot for tightening up groups. I couldn't quite get what I was looking for with the Atlas on it (plus I wanted something taller and wider).

Next up will be longer barrels. I have a call scheduled next week to discuss some custom lengths and configurations, and I'll probably wind up with 3 more in various lengths (all over ~450mm). It'll be interesting to see how it does with completely different designs. Regardless, this is a hackable little platform and a lot of fun to test with for sure.

BTW, with my 5-20 NF scope and the SR-5, it weights in at 7lbs11oz lol. I can't say the weight is doing much for recoil, but again - the bipod is superb for keeping her straight!

I actually found it kind of annoying when the gun would jump and twang each shot but got used to it. I just added a 12fpe huma and tuned it down and the gun doesn't even move now when I shoot, so smooth. I do want to get a .22 barrel though and was wondering how bad it is going to jump with .22 lol.

Holy, that's quite a bipod and scope setup on a Leshiy! Isn't that the huge bipod like the Atlas 5h? 😵

I wish I had the knowledge and lathe to be able to machine my own barrels and anything else for that matter. You're right, this gun is so easy to tinker on/with.

You're probably thinking of the FC-5.

350mm .22 barrel arrived today. 18gr JSBs are coming out at 967fps with my Huma set at ~133bars. I'll see how far down I can get the reg and maintain those levels of energy, it does seem wasteful for this ammo, and I'm also anxious to see the accuracy.

I have a 350mm .22 cal. barrel for my Leshiy and with the Huma reg set at 105 bar I was getting 865 fps with the JSB 18's. I would bet you could get over 900 fps with your reg set at about 110 bar. Bill

That definitely sounds plausible. I'm going to adjust it down in increments of 5 or so and see if I can find a sweet spot for around 900-920. The other big test for me will be longer range .. the .25 / 350 did pretty well initially over 100y (but when I got the new chronos I found that they were flying a slower with the original tuning that I did). Curious to see how stable they are with more air next time around.
