Leshiy leak

Tried the search function but haven’t found this particular leak discussed.

My leshiy classic e gauge failed so I switched it out w a wika gauge along w the o-ring inside but when I go to fill it it leaks.

The leak seems to be coming from the grub screw that holds fill cover in place and I didn’t even touch that screw other than to screw it in to remove the fill cover but never unscrewed it completely. Anybody deal with this before and any solutions?

That grub screw doesn’t hold air. It’s either leaking from the gauge/seal, or the fill port. My money is on the gauge as you replaced it. Maybe you crushed the oring too much. You don’t need to crank the gauge really tight. Hand tight is enough, and air pressure will do the rest.

That seems to be where the air comes from but maybe it’s the fill port then. What would make the fill port leak? I didn’t touch the release screw on the underside.

Maybe some dirt got in when filling. Try filling again and see if you can blow it out.

I hade a few leaks with my Leshiy when I had it. Seriously though. Dunk that end a few inches in some water and watch for bubbles. take the stock off first though. Also a healthy spritzing of soapy water works too. Sounds like something went wrong with the new gauge install. It happens.

I ordered a new gauge altogether and will see if it still leaks after I install that one but this sure is a pain in the butt
