LESHIY has NEW competition. Thoughts!

Agreed. I would choose a Leshiy over the DreamTac Compact anyday. Proven dependable design and extremely compact. Competition with the DreamTac Compact would be more in line with the JSAR Raptor Mini and AAA EVOL Tac .22 standard. Raptor Mini being 37" with LDC and 16.5" barrel and the EVOL Tac .22 36" with LDC and 15" barrel. Then theres the EVOL Tac Mini being 5" shorter with a 10" barrel.

I believe one of the main draws of the leshiy is the fact you can fold it and put it in your backpack without having to worry of anything happening to the barrel/poi. The compact is probably built well, but I do not think the free floating barrel system would be ideal as a backpack gun. The compact is nice if you want to pest/target shoot, however I still believe the leshiy is in a different niche as a gun you can take on a trip. For example, Ive taken my leshiy on casual hikes around trails along the edge of my city. I just toss it in my backpack with some water and snacks and I am good for a morning hike. On my hikes I usually only see 1 or 2 ground squirrels or an occasional dove, so single loading has never been an issue from my experience. I usually have to pull the gun out quickly and stow it away even faster so nobody can see it and potentially freak out. Sometimes in the haste minor bumps can happen. If I owned a compact I feel like i would just be too worried to bring it on trips like that where it needs to go in and out of a backpack due to the potential need to rezero which I cant do casually out in the field. Before I leave on my hikes I check my zero at home and I am always confident that when I pull it out later that day it will remain the same. Idk if I would have the same confidence on the compact. Just my 2 cents, I own a fx dreamline classic as well.

I own 3 FX rifles and love their quality and accuracy. The Impact is in a category of its own and in my opinion so is the Leshiy. Btw I also own a Leshiy in .22. Its extremely small almost concealable, powerful, adjustable, accurate a great hunting platform and just fun to shoot. I'm sure the Dream tac is a fine gun but I dont think we are comparing apples to apples.

I disagree with this. Lots of threads about the Dream line being underpowered. With the Leshiy I can go from .177 20fpe to .30 60+fpe in under 5 minutes. Can the Dream line do that? Does the Dream line even have a .30 caliber? I am gentle with my expensive toys, but that doesn't mean I go easy on them. The Leshiy can handle the bumps along the way. Can the Dream line or will POI shift if the barrel is bumped?

I agree with all here, remember folks the DREAM TAC COMPCT also folds, and that multi shot capability is what most want, to me and again that's me, the single shot thing was the deal breaker for me with the LESHIY. I can see ED coming out with an improved LESHIY that will be MULTI shot capable. I love IMPROVEMENTS in anything in life. AWESOME convo here GENTS.

I have 2 Leshys one only set up for the .30 other in .177/.25. now I have dream compact in the mail. It’s weird first saw fx that got me into pcp told myself was going to be my first and long story shot I bought a whole slew of others but with the dream line I feel bang for buck worth it and now i have one coming. I will post a side by side when it shows up. I was looking for a specific role for my guns leshys do something well with no breach O ring pellet dirrectly in the barrel I can shove any type of pellet in there I feel I don’t send wad cutters in my other guns herd they eat up o rings also I believe the Leshiy is highly versatile can get it around 4fpe up to +\- 75 fpe not sure the fx can do that but the Leshiy can’t go pew pew it just go pew ... reload ... pew but worst comes to worse you can club something with the Leshiy

the fx is going to be dropped in my pack on hunting trips when I take my son a single stage trigger is an acquired taste and the surprise shots seem to startle him a bit. He loves shooting the tiapan shorty but it’s to heavy for the feller.

Another Leshiy owner here that's eyeballing the FX compact.

Really like the Leshiy for being so compact and built like a tank. Very simple to work on and adjust. It's an elegantly simple design and it works great... but sometimes I wish it was multishot. Sometimes critters at night call for a quick backup shot-- something I can't do in a hurry with the Leshiy.

That being said, while the FX Compact looks like a great gun for stashing near the back porch door for night time critters or taking on short close range walking hunts, I'd be much more comfortable packing the Leshiy around for a day of hiking. It's built like a tank and the fully supported barrel inside the beefy frame probably isn't going to get tweaked even if you happen to take a slip and fall on your pack. I wouldn't feel comfortable banging the FX around in a backpack all day, I've seen how easily the barrel flexes on a friend's Crown and the Dream Tac Compact is a very similar design. Pretty sure if the FX compact takes a decent hit on the barrel it's going to end up tweaked; on the other hand, I'm pretty sure I could use the Leshiy as a baseball bat and not damage it or change the point of impact.

So maybe the answer is buy the FX compact and keep both...

I won't be buying the Dream Tac Compact until I read several reviews here though... want to make sure it doesn't have any FX "Gen 1" issues.

Funny, I was just looking at my Leshiy, I have not touched it in about a month, put it away shortly after repairing the foul up I created when replacing the battery, I also replaced the stock regulator with the HUMA I bought with the gun... I filled it with air, checked the gauge and put it away... I picked it up today and it hasn't lost one LBS of air pressure that I can see... It's built like a tank, shoots fantastic and will probably outlive me... I love my Leshiy… No comparison... Therefore no competition...

Just my .02

She looks GORGEOUS. Love it. My next gun will be the EDGUN LELYA, but i have been intrigued lately by the Evol Mini, a bit more money but looks like it is also built like a tank and its multi shot.....DECISIONS DECISIONS, DECISIONS. 😃

My Dreamline compact has landed. I was able to fire off 2 mags last night. Just playing with it. I think it’s wasting air at current power will play with this to find a sweet spot. It’s not close in terms of robustness I wouldn’t use it as a hammer lol . Should be noted this is my first fx. With shroud extention they are same in length. I’ll post an actual review after more time with it.
