Leshiy 2 owners

I have learned CQBTs a long time ago but have found it difficult to continue training given the ridiculous prices for firearm resources these days, which I am REFUSING to pay and I am not depleting my emergency stock to replenish at a buck a round (craaazy, but that is another story). Thus, I switched over to PCPs. I bought several PCPs, some remain unshot, and now have found my way to the Leishy2. It seems that the gun offers multiple advantages over my M3 sniper particularly bc the Leshiy can support all of my AR furniture while the M3 does only with limit success since the entire barrel region in the M3 lacks hardware attachment points while the Leshiy does not, using the Valkyrie resources. While this may change in the future with the M3, it will never a be semi auto. Thus, a Leshiy very much is in the future for me.

I do want to know however what owners find in terms of the mechanical aspects. I’ve always been an admirer of Russian designs as since forever, Russian engineering adheres to KiSS simply due to philosophy and resource issues in the past. Their hardware tends to be easily maintained and keeps banging along. The only issue in the past was quality and materials. I am, for example wondering about their use of composites in the receiver. I only have a HK handgun that uses that and never used it bc I can’t stand the balance. While I hear that the Leshiy is a fine weapon, I want to make sure that before I drop 3K, I get what I pay for. I’d appreciate honest feedback, back channel is ok. I’ve looked at available reviews but am always skeptic as most reviewers have financial interests. Also, extreme enthusiasm is an issue as well as it gives rise to bias either. Is the gun as good as I think I am hearing.

Please grind away, I need the feedback. Pointing me to resources is great as well, but not YouTube as I have spend excessive time there already.

Thanks a bunch,

D

Hello I have both a L2 and an LCS19. The L2 is a great gun and can be configured like an AR for the basic feel of an AR but the selector/safty is not the same. Build quality is good no issues several 1000s rounds thru it so far. It is my day to day plinker, back pack, and door gun to remove unwanted pests. With that being said my LCS is my AR trainer because of the selector. The L2 gives you a better feel, but all my AR training is built around the selector manipulation and because of that the LCS wins out. On the LCS I put a short vert grip on as to try to get a somewhat modified c clamp gripping the rail and the bottle. With the LCS I'm able to do my snap up , static turns, 180's, walk and shoot, 1-5 , and transition drills. The only thing I can not do is reload drill. The L2 safety lends itself very good for a M1a or Mini14 drills. Both guns are factor/ distributer spec. I do not tune my guns just shoot them. LCS had a screw come loose under the rear panel at 4000+ rds just removed the rail and reinstalled the screw other than that no issues on either gun. I hope I was able to answer some questions if there is anything else or something needing clarification please ask. Hope this helped Eric

I can’t speak to AR training, bc I’ve never done it. What I can add is that my leshiy 2 is my go to for everything. To the point that my other guns rarely ever come out. Why is this? Because it’s compactness allows me to take it with me everywhere. It’s well balanced, accurate so far out to 70yds (as far as I’ve shot it), and seems to be well built. That being said, it’s not as kiss as the original leshiy, or even your M3. There are many more vital parts that if fail, can cause issues, and HAVE caused issues on peoples leshiys and made their heads turn inside out trying to figure out how to fix them. The leshiy hammerless design lends itself to complexity, but to a point. Then gun is easy to take apart and work on yourself, and parts are easy to get now a dealer network is coming to fruitions.
my only worry in the near future is our supply chains with Russia will be effected due to the obvious tensions. At that point, not only will parts be hard to get, but so will the guns themselves. If you’re going this route, I’d jump soon before prices get so high, they’re unnatainable!

I thought about the same thing, so that's why I inquire bc I can pull the trigger immediately. I just need to check prices and legal issues in Europe as I am going in August and can have someone purchase one and I'll take it home with me IF and only IF I can get it in US power configurations. While I recognize the supply chain issues, I think spare parts could be easily manufactured in the US given that there is a dedicated distributor so that is a lesser concern especially bc I have other PCPs. My bigger concern is about LEO mucking things up. Suppressor, semi auto, concealment and lethal power? I am sure they are looking at that bc why bother w/a loud .22 even if suppressed if you can do the same thing w/out ballistic evidence and no powder residue that one can be linked w/. And I am sorry but .30 cal from 5 -10 meter distance, that'll be a kill shot especially given the accuracy, placed through soft tissue. And while some may want to make the argument that nobody will spend 2-3K on a throwaway gun, these are not throwaway guns d/t the aforementioned lack of evidence AND laws that anybody could be prosecuted for since these are NOT firearms. So, I know LEO is looking at these guns. Although ATFs hands are bound bc these are NOT firearms, I am wondering how long before Karen'atic politicians paint all of us as assassins , But, I know some of you are given the critter videos I've seen on YouTube :). But I thank you for your feedback, it was very helpful.

Yes, ergonomics are likely not the same, but that is not my main focus. I got enough muscle memory that I don't need to train on an AR per se (although I do run around in some of the abandoned homes in the desert nearby w/my empty AR. In fact, I am sure you experience the same, I can actually imagine the feel for the AR just by thinking about it and "physically" experience the tactile feedback. If that were to diminish I jump right back onto firearms training. For me it is just about shot placement on the move using my red dot and magnifier. I've tried to do this w/the M3 but it's wanting quite frankly. Can't say I know the LSC but I must say that I like the Leshiy bc it is seems so much more modular, at least from what I've seen. But, I greatly appreciate the info about the LSC as frankly, I had not even thought about it. There is a LCS as dealer nearby so I'll head out to look at it, but if anything I probably would end up buying both of them anyway as it is clearly not an issue of either or but HOW MANY FREAKING quality PCPs CAN I OWN??????????????????????????????

I had to take a family photo before responding to you AR furniture question with a resounding yes.

Yeeeeeeees. Another hash mark. I had issues placing my Etech red point and magnifier on my RAW bc of the magazine sticking up (designer's please really make these rifles TRULY AR compatible). While both items fit on the M3, which may even fit my IR on the piccy on the side, that changes the balance of the rile.. I'd rather put ithe IR toward the end of the rifle and w/the Valkyr railguard I can do that. In addition, I had issue w/sling placement on the M3 as I don't like running one-point attachments (but I solved that issue). I am thinking of heading toward the middle of your setup in a .25 as that allows me to shoot in my yard (max 50 meters) and out in the desert (I got 5 large colonies of desert nawers that a friend of mind asked me to terminate as she just had to put down one of her expensive ranch horses that broke a leg in a terrifying accident injuring a guest). If I ever have known someone that absolutely hates these critters on her/his property, it is her!. Spring is coming up, so I have to get something going here real soon bc that population is going to explode (she had staffing issues bc of the pandemic). So, thanks a bunch. Very helpful to know that I am not presuming incorrectly. And seeing you run bottles reinforces my initial price point that deemed that essential as I don't want to reload air after 3 mags. Many thanks!!

Happy to help. Considering caliber I would have a look the the 3 million page L2 thread as I believe the .25 is the one with the most trouble with projectiles. I think many are happy with the .25 25gr, but don't have the best of luck with the 34gr .25 JSB - also your options are limited in .25.

Consider that I can shoot a 25gr .22 JSB redesign just over 1000 fps with better BC than the 25 cal and more retained energy down range. Also - I've found the 600mm Alfa barrel with Apex Airgun Ammo 36 gr .219 boat tails shooting right around 900 fps are amazingly accurate. 65 fpe at the barrel and with a BC in the neighborhood of 0.14-0.15 the retained energy at 100 yards is 53 fpe.

Again, much appreciated. So far I have been shooting .22 simply bc it makes things easier. If the L2 makes that possible than I am so much more happier as I have too much ammo to shoot to begin with. If the L2 can handle that kind of grain, I am happy as the clam bc even the 18 grain pellets and .22 slugs thru my Tarantula have been clearly lethal even out to 50 meters.

That is why we are about to start the separate enterprice in USA to make the full cycly of L2 manufacturing. So, it will be "Made in USA" L2, so, we will f..k all the polititions with their games anyhow, on the both sides of the ocean. :)

With most American companies outsourcing to countries with cheaper labor it’s surprising and refreshing that you would setup your facility in America.
It’s unfortunate that politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.
