I just tried the AVS slugs myself and they were awful in my 250 .22 barrel as I had the gun set up but then I tried the Griffin .218” 22 grain cup base and wow. It’s shooting the best groups of anything I have tried, and that’s a lot. I’m talking one ragged hole at 35 yards. I just changed my barrels from the 350 x .30 but didn’t change out the jets ( .3 and a plug) and the reg is at 165 bar. Not the best combination for the .22 250 barrel. I’m going to change the jets to a better dwell time for the .22 x 250 barrel for a few more shots per fill but I’m thinking these slugs like it fast. I didn’t chronograph it but I will before I change anything so I can replicate the velocity when I change the jets. It’s amazing how fussy barrels can be or how fussy the ammo can be . Or maybe it’s a combination of things we don’t understand.
by the way the .218” slugs still slide through the magazines. I have learned to not remove the magazine and just remove the steel plate to either load by hand or better yet use a speed loader. Much easier and less wear on the gun to not remove the magazine.
