Leshiy 2 100 yard groups (and 50 yard)

Had a little time today to run a target out to 100 yards. First time shooting the leshiy at this distance with my new .22 450mm alfa barrel.

FX 18gr pellets going 850fps. Gun supported on sand bag and my shoulder. Scope is the Athlon helos 2-12 Mil scope.

The wind really pushed the pellets around but I was able to get a couple of groups I was proud of. Not to shabby Mr. L2!

We all have different habits when shooting. I don't aim for the bull, I choose random spots on the shoot & C target. Trying to find the capabilities of the gun, not the shooter and maximize my use of the target. If I were trying to hit a particular spot/object, I'll just shoot my 100 yard spinners.

Don’t aim for the bull? How do you consistently aim for a random spot on a target? And would all those shots be hits on what size spinners? I just see random groups on a target. And identifiable aim point is not random. Also taking that pistol and making it a long range rifle looks to be stretching the gun and distance.

When I’m shooting to see how small of a group I can get my aim point is always above the impact point. That way I always have the same aim point, it doesn’t get shot out. If you shoot five shots and your crosshairs are exactly where the pellets are hitting you are going to shoot out your aim point. But if you have a tiny dot to put the crosshairs on, and the impact point is in a different place you have a better chance to get a tight group because you always have the same aim point. Just don’t forget to correct before shooting a pest lol!

I Shoot the first shot, see where my pellet lands and try to maintain that aim point. That first shot is random..where ever the wind pushes it...spinners range in size from 1 - 2 inches.

I'm confused why location of my groups on paper is confusing. Maybe if I used one target and shot one group and say I aimed for the bull then it would make more sense. Just not my style I guess.

I think 100 yards is pushing the capabilities of nearly all of our airguns...especially the ability to hit tiny targets out in the elements.

I don't see many groups of the leshiy 2 posted so I figured I'd show what it can do. I say it passed with flying colors. 60 yards and under it is a very reliable pester. 100 yards is just for fun.

Quick update,

450mm alpha barrel continues to impress. It loves the fx 15.89 gr pellets at 945 fps. Check this group at 50 yards on the first try. maybe I pulled one shot or the wind pushed it a little. Wicked little gun.

Also shout out to Jack. K. For making me a shroud that fits under the handguard.. really helped quiet the gun down. I'm only using 2 sections of a Huma Mod 40 along with the shroud and the leshiy is as quiet as the huma other 4-5 sections! There is a 450mm barrel in there!

Wow!! That’s fantastic for sure, congratulations. With just a bag and shoulder that is really good. I bet if you try a tail bag as well you will even get tighter groups. That’s impressive shooting!

Jacob, very nice groups with your L2 @ 50 & 100! Those such small compact but built solid guns. That Alpha barrel is a laser!

L.Leon,

Thanks and the overall length from shoulder to tip of moderator is about 34 3/4 inches.

Folded for storage is about 22 inches.

Legionair,

I'm surprised too that I moved on from my Taipans. A lot of my enjoyment from the hobby comes from tuning and figuring guns out, I think the taipans were getting boring because they were so plug and play. Literally turned 1 knob and the tuning was done lol. I definitely see a Compact Taipan Veteran in my future. No clue when but it's the only version I haven't tried and I already have it in my head that I want one.

Right now I'm loving the L2 a lot more than the Vet, main reason being the form factor is so much more enjoyable. A lot more customizing!

Thanks guys!
