So, I just received a Leopard in .22, standard bottle. I have not shot yet and need a rough I idea of where to start the macro/micro setting for a JSB Hades .22 15.89 grain pellet. Any ideas? I know its a rather new rifle.
Thanks
Thanks
The macro just moves the micro in bigger increments but the position of the micro is what adjusts the hammer. The reg right now is at 118 bar. Why doesn't the macro matter? The micro is at 2 right now.
Is there an FPS I should try to dial in for the .22 15.89 Hades? 950? 975? Keep in mind I only like to target shoot some and pest control. Its not like I am going to run out and try to win a regional match.
Hades aren’t bad, I shoot them out to two guns. Both of which are way lower power than a leopard though…Travis from Utah Airguns set me up. I told him how I was going to utilize the FX and he set me up and recommended those Hades for what I am doing. Hope they work.
Holy cow, never tried Hades north of 960 since that’s where they started to get wonky for me, even out of 1:30 twist…You are going to need a chornograph to do any tuning, no way out of it. If you plan to use the Hades for pesting or hunting they do much better going fast, but you will give up some accuracy past about 50-60yds. I use mine at about 980-1050fps and they crush pests. On a 600mm barrel with the Leopard valving you will probably be good in the ~100Bar range. I wouldnt adjust anything from the factory/Utah settings though until you get a decent chronograph and have a solid understanding of how to tune a pcp.
Start here and watch the follow up video:
Yeah they started to veer off randomly past about 60yds for me out of a 500mm STX liner, but were dime size groups up to that point. And for whatever reason the Hades in 22Cal specifically have a higher tendency to deform at high speeds, where the 25Cal wont. So from my experience they have been the best pesting pellet, at least in 22Cal since they really crush ground squirrels. I also like that they lose their speed and energy pretty quickly making them safer compared to a slug or a 25Cal etc.Holy cow, never tried Hades north of 960 since that’s where they started to get wonky for me, even out of 1:30 twist…
Yeah never had luck with expansion of the .25s… I really like the .22 as well! One of my favorite grab and shoot for squirrels out to 60-70y is a Dreamline classic with Hades at 890fps. Dead on and more than enough power to smack them. That said, I find myself grabbing the laminate Wildcat you inspired more often for that purpose as well, it’s set up for 18gr though… maybe gotta see whether one of the power wheel settings is good for hadesYeah they started to veer off randomly past about 60yds for me out of a 500mm STX liner, but were dime size groups up to that point. I didn't have a chronograph either when I started, but you will definitely need to grab one owning a regulated rifle. I believe Amazon has one for around $40. I have a Caldwell.I did see recommend starting at 8 and go from there. I do not have a chronograph to help dial things in like some or probably most here. I am new to PCP. I was hoping someone already went down this path and could get me close with that pellet size. I promise not to enter any competitions, just disposing of house sparrows and starlings here!
