Lelya 2.0 broken poppet

While trying to tune in some NSA .23 gr slugs, my gun stopped firing all the sudden. It sounded like the valve wasn't opening at all. I had velocity up to 800 fps with the slugs and 920 fps with 18 gr JSB's, so I don't think I was hitting the valve excessively hard. Before this, I was shooting the 16's at 890.

After pulling it apart, I found that the brass insert in the poppet had shifted forward and split the Delrin.  I also noticed enough mushrooming where the hammer strikes the shaft that I couldn't get it apart. I'm very surprised to see failure on a gun with less than 500 pellets through it.

I guess I'll have to make a new one, probably much faster than waiting on a replacement...

I should point out that aside from being pretty loud and the gauge crapping out in the first couple weeks, it's a great little gun when it's working. The build quality is extremely nice.

Oh. I have mine tuned to push the 18 grainers at 920. I guess ill find out if Im going to have the same issue. I will agree that the Lelya is a great bullpup.

Would the part for the R5M be the same? Because isn't the Lelya and the R5M basically the same airgun with just a few things different going on. Like a longer barrel and air tube and an extended barrel shroud.

Yeah the valves are the same but the stem is longer on the R5M/Lelya this is the first one that busted, I should have spares in a bit, Ed is sending them to me from Russia

Delrin comes in both white and black, and if both are delrin which they appear to be, they are likely near equal strength, although I prefer the black

Mine is Delrin, and I believe the stock one is also. I have a smaller shaft going into the poppet instead of the brass insert that the stock one has. It looks like the lack of material is the weak point.
