Leather tank cover

Make a template out of cardboard. Get yourself a nice piece of leather and stitch it on the tank. Stitching leather is easy, you just make the stitch holes before you stitch it with a heavy needle and thread made just for that purpose. (Dye the leather before stitching)

I have made lots of holsters over the years and it is much easier than you would think.

I think it would look super cool, especially once it has some patina.

Absolutely, using "leather" to stitch the ends together, will not only look better (seam on the bottom !), but will also keep from your pick of adhesive from possibly ruining the resin surface of the air bottle, and having no recourse other than...a new bottle.

I would sew it together, then wet the leather to stretch it over the tank, and then let it try.

In my "youth" i have used leather to make quite a few smoking paraphernalia's, and it is no mean feat sewing in 7 - 8 mm thick leather.

PS. NOT my handy work just example of leather " pipe " To cover a tank you of course would want to use thinner more manageable leather.

How to sow it, you can probably find many tutorials on youtube, i would NOT glue it on the tank.
