I was looking around for lead free slugs and couldn't find a manufacturer who makes them. Is there any particular reason they have not been made yet? Would the metal be too hard for a barrel in slug form?

JSB has plans to make some. I have talked to them by email a few times. As of now they are on the back burner because of the big demand on lead pellets and slugs.

Going from solid lead to solid copper shouldn't be a giant leap for manufacturers. Copper is maybe 20% more expensive than lead.

Do you think copper could be too hard for barrels? I've heard that copper jacketed pellets are generally less accurate because of it and could also potentially damage barrels. And that's only a copper coating, not solid copper like slugs would be.

Thanks man. Happy to hear that there are some other interested people. Maybe a company will start manufacturing them if there's enough interest. And those JSB slugs look great. A shame they haven't released them yet.

Back in the 1980's (may have been earlier) we could buy zinc airgun bullets.
They fitted most British airguns but were oversize for most foreign makes.
Accuracy and velocity retention were both poor.
