My first air rifle, a Daisy Red Ryder, fired 5.1 grain BBs at 300 FPS, generating a whopping 1.02 FPE at the muzzle.
When I got my BB gun in postwar 1946, the production of steel BBs had been resumed, so I never got the chance to use lead BBs.
I would like to know what prevented them from rolling out of the barrel when the muzzle was depressed below level.
The steel BBs were held by the magnetized bolt, which wouldn't work for lead.
Maybe I'll ask Tom Gaylord.....
