LC-110 Gauge Blow-Out FYI

Last night my LC-110 from 2018 compressor, not filling just sitting, blew the liquid filled gauge boot out and spit mineral oil out at some mild force. I would consider placing a zip tie or other mechanical retention like a hose clamp over any similar you have. As we know, they are liquid filled to avoid implosion. Thermal expansion, a poor boot seal, and internal gauge pressure made it pop.

In my use case it is a non-critical gauge; it works fine with no light weight mineral oil in place and is an indicator gauge not an automation gauge.

However, no oil mess is fun to clean up hence my suggestion above.

To elaborate on my initial posting -- I resolved it and cleaned up the mess, it was just to serve as a warning to others who may experience similar with any liquid filled gauge; simply apply an additional form of mechanical retention around the gromit.

It's 100% a cosmetic issue to me, and not even one that impacts function, as I top off at 4500 PSI. I use the gauge only for reference of "I am bored, I wonder how much longer this will take" hah!

All the best and I hope this helps others in this hobby.
