Latest Project, Streamline .25

Decided to get a .25 Streamline before there wasn't any left. I don't like the long tube on the .25, so ordered a short tube that is used on the .22 version. Still have the long tube if the need ever arises. I never shoot more than a mag or two while squirrel hunting, so I should have more than enough shots for my use. First thing I did was take it to my friend who builds custom flintlock rifles. I have a couple antique rifles that were made a few miles from my home. One was made in 1810 & has a swooping eagle inlay on the cheekpiece. The other was made in 1830 circa & has an American Bison on the cheekpiece. So I gave my buddy a piece of 9 gauge silver, showed him pics of the inlays on my original rifles and ask if he could make similar ones & put one on the cheek & the other one on the pistol grip cap. I used 9 gauge to actually add some protection to the grip end cap, typically silver inlays are thinner. Also had him put a piece of Bocote on the forend, to cover up some of the tube. I was wanted a more traditional looking rifle. Since the LOP was too short for me I had him increase it to my comfortable 15 inch. I will do some testing with in the near future. But my preliminary shooting is getting about 25 shots @ 925 with 25 grain jsbs.

First pic is before.
