So I took out the lightest rifle in .20 with the scope on and shot when light was pretty much gone. But the scope is really a very good one (as you spend into lenses you eventually get to Swarovski or Schmidt Bender or Docter, or Kahles, or Zeiss) and for me the Swarovski lenses are as good as Schmidt Bender or Docter or Kahles. The Zeiss for me isn't as good but eyes are eyes and any of these expensive scopes will last a lifetime shooting .458 Winchester or .20 air rifle.
Well the rifle now hits in the dusk to target at 35 yards offhand using the better type scope fixed atop.
I won't worry about recoil for this scope ever, but if it spends the rest of my life atop the HW50S .20 serial number 2329631 (preceded by "USA") it'll be the most times I ever use the Swarovski scope all together. It doesn't need to be mounted on a rifle and forgotten in dust. The HW50S .20 is the most used break barrel springer for me outside of more customized approaches to the basic air rifle springer.
I can't say enough how pleasing the HW50 is in .20 and I have two of them. One is scoped and the other isn't but I have to put a scope on the other to really see what it does.
This project is in progress.
