NOTE: Upon request, I can manufacture cheek pads for your rifle. I need precise measurements from the cheekpiece (I walk you through the process) or the cheekpiece itself. If working with me on measurements, please provide me with the measurements asked even if you think they are not needed. I use the smaller measurements for indexing the model on the rifle in CAD. The cheekpiece needs to look "right" on the rifle and this helps me accomplish that.
A wonderfully precise and comfortable cheek pad that looks like a factory-installed item. I will be making these in various thicknesses, from 3mm to 4mm. You are welcome to make your own using these files. I can also share the .CAD drawing as well (made in Fusion 360).
Update 1:
First, thank you all for showing interest. I have material on order and it should arrive within the next three days. Shipping will be about 1 dollar for as many as 4 pads. Three pads have been cut. The fourth pad from the same batch was used as QC for fitment. I've made the following observations and will write up instructions for those who want the absolute most professional application.
Update 2: 8/18/21
New material arrived, 36 pads available.
Update 3: 8/27/21
Marine Grade 316 Stainless steel bolts for cheek area/upper receiver available for an additional 1.50. These are tempered to 450-500 degrees for a dark golden color. The reason behind this addition was that the factory carbon steel bolts rust from the sweat off your cheek in high humidity climates. These will not.
Paypal: [email protected]
Price: 6 dollars
Postage: 1 dollar (one or two stamps depending on quantity up to 4)
Instructions
1) When the pad is removed from the backing, some adhesive "flashing" remains because the laser does not cut through the glue. I recommend lightly tracing around the pad with a razor to minimize the flashing. The adhesive backing is ultra-thin and is clear. The tiny amount left can be rolled back for an invisible edge.
2) Align the pad starting with the cocking lever side of the action, using the button head screw as an index. Lightly place the pad into desired position, ensuring accurate placement while maintaining straight edges. BE CAREFUL not apply a lot of pressure during this phase as the adhesive is very strong.
3) When applying the pad, try to avoid over-stretching the material. It's very elastic but you want to avoid creating a lot of internal stress/tension. This ensures the longest-lasting bond (and it's a good one!)
