Caught another chuck sneaking around behind my shop last evening just before dark. This one is a lot bigger than the others I’ve gotten this summer. 70 yards .30 44 grain hades right under the eye
I was a little surprised myself when I walked up to it. I haven’t seen very many that sizeThat's one of the biggest I've seen. Nice shot.
The only one I've seen that size up my way was a female about ready to pop with a new litter. Black bears and coyotes keep the local population in check, but there's always the smarter ones that dig a den under your slab or concrete front steps.I was a little surprised myself when I walked up to it. The gun is an HM1000X in .30 with an impulse air moderator on itDetails on the gun please!
Not as far as I’m concerned. I have heard of people trying to make them edible but it’s not for megood pictures ,
is there any use for a Ghog ? stew , pelt ?
G-hog can be quite tasty if prepared right . Think about this , do you eat rabbit ? G-hogs eat mostly the same materials ,depending on where they live. They love most of your garden vegetables ! The hide is very supple yet strong . There is a muzzleloader's possibles pouch in our family from generations ago that is G-hog hide. I've eaten chuck several times years ago. I just feed the eagles & buzzards now though.good pictures ,

How well does the moderator work? I have a DonnyFL Ronin on my Maverick VP .30cal, and I'm wondering if there is something better. The gun is an HM1000X in .30 with an impulse air moderator on it
