Lapping Scope Rings

Do you lap your scope rings ? I always do, however, all my scopes have had 1" tubes and now I'm getting a Hawke with a 30mm tube. I hate to buy a 30mm lapping rod for a single scope, but being a $400. scope I don't know if it would be wise not to do it.

I think you answered your own question. I have never lapped my scope rings as of yet, but I do think it's probably a good idea.
