Kratos louder after cleaning

I get the impression that my Kratos 22 is louder since I have cleaned it a couple of times with patch worm. Also I am feeling a little air on my left hand and arm. Is it possible that I damaged an o ring in the breech while cleaning?



the patchwork was a very tight fit.

Good chance you damaged the breach o ring. Place a tissue over it and test fire to be sure.

Most likely the Breech o-ring (Crosman part# 0047) or the power adjuster o-ring (Part# 0042). Both are simple fixes.

Thanks guys for the replies. I removed the shroud and barrel and did a deep cleaning. The large o ring on the outside of the barrel that seals inside the shroud looks quite rough and partially split. 


I did change the breech o ring and the two little o rings on the outside of the barrel without any improvement. 

I have talked to Crosman and have new o rings on the way. 

He thought that from what I was describing that the large outer one on the barrel that seals inside the shroud was a reasonable possibility. If that does not do it then he suspects the valve and will require sending it back in. 
i will update when I know more.

Well after a few more shots the other day noise buzzing and length of report both for louder and longer. Much more air use. 


In talking to Mat at Crosman he suspects valve which with my limited knowledge makes sense. 


so it is on the way to them for service.

breech oring damage.... Also if you use oils derived from petroleum, in the first shots after cleaning the barrel, you can cause the dieseling effect, in short a kind of combustion is created

Well good news from Crosman today. Got an email that they were replacing it under warranty !!!
