KRATOS, Cayden, AKELA, trigger adjustment.

I just realized something about the trigger shoe on these rifles... moving the trigger shoe up higher on the post gives a shorter trigger pull and moving it down to the bottom of the post gives a longer but lighter pull. I’ve only seen people describe the adjustable shoe height in regards to making it comfortable for the shooter, but if you try the adjustment at each end of the post you’ll immediately see it drastically changes the feel of the trigger pull. 
I have previously polished all the bearing surfaces of the trigger components on the Kratos and made adjustments with the screws, but never thought much about the trigger shoe height until today. 
If you haven’t tried the shoe adjustments I would encourage you to move your shoe up as high as possible and then experiment with the trigger pull as you incrementally adjust the shoe downward. You’ll find a spot that balances the trigger weight and trigger breaking distance. Of course REMEMBER to make sure the rifle is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction while making any trigger adjustments. 
In the picture here I have mine adjusted high on the post which is giving a VERY short but slightly heavier feeling pull before trigger break.
Now that I’ve figured out that the trigger shoe height determines the travel distance of the trigger I am probably going to spend a rainy day this winter readjusting the sear engagement and see what changes come from that now.

The guy on airgun detectives shows how to adjust the trigger by taking the stock off where there is an adjustment.

Yes you would definitely benefit from cleaning and polishing the trigger components and also cleaning out the rectangular channel the bolt travels in. I had the same gritty, dirty feeling at first also but after a complete disassembly and cleaning everything up, followed by a thin coat of silicone grease on everything.... I can say that everything now is smooth as butter.

I did the first part of the Airgun Detective video on my Kratos trigger, meaning I did no polishing, just used the sear screw. I cocked the unloaded rifle, turned the sear screw until the rifle discharged, then set the screw one turn backlit.

I keep saying I am going to do the polishing part and the spring exchange. I have not because the trigger is so good now. I would put it at around 1 lb.

I will try the sear screw next. I hate working on triggers. I rather rebuild a FWB 300 than messing with a trigger. Having said, is there a video or write up on the trigger job?

Airgun Detective did the trigger video, Google Kratos trigger adjustment Airgun detective. Very easy to do, he explains each procedure and you can stop at any point.

I followed the video instructions opened up the trigger polished it etc.. The 1st stage creep is gone but the trigger still only breaks at around 2 1/2 pounds. The sear screw was almost all the way in already. I like it much better now but 1lbs would be nice.

Good tips on the trigger, Being left handed, I flipped the trigger ,so the set screw is on the right, and set it back to were it was .Didn't think to go up or down , I will try the vertical adjustment Thanks for the tip!!
