Krale - duty free up to $800

Bought several Weihrauch airguns from Krale. They are out of the Netherlands. Some people have been charged a “duty” fee from U.S customs. Not me. Looking into this today along with others here on AGN it has come to our knowledge that an order up to $800 comes in duty free from the Netherlands. After that UPS will impose a duty fee. Duty fees vary by the country it is coming from.

Sorry, not a goggle user. The Netherlands Antilles is a group of islands in the Caribbean under Dutch (Netherlands) administration/rule/government.

No apologies are necessary. Just relaying the best information found . When buying abroad it can make one uneasy. Some people were paying duty and some not. We finally figured it out and it’s good information to have.

As for the duty, I have no knowledge other than my two purchases from Krale have not had duty, and indeed, both were sub $800.00.

However, Netherlands Antilles is very much not the Netherlands. If The Netherlands is not listed by itself, I would not necessarily take the listing for the Antilles as a stand in for the country in Europe. It would be a bit like saying that something that applies to the Marianna's must therefore apply to Massachusetts.

Good point. Hope other viewers that have paid duty would chime in on the value declared. My paperwork from Krale for customs has an amount of declaration. Never over $800. No duty.

I paid, thru UPS, a duty fee of $66.99 (Brokerage $12/Gov't $54.99) on January 20, for a Krales AGT Uragan costing $1,410.00. UPS International shipping to Tampa was $66. Even with duty fees, price was still $236 cheaper than Talon Tunes, "to your door" price. Thanks to you and others for doing the homework, at least we know the facts. WM

WM. Was that all you bought on that order? I’m trying to get to $54.99. Cannot get there with a 3% fee for the total of $1410 and the first $800 should be free. I understand the brokerage fee. Does your bill of lading break it down? Thank you.

That was my total order. The breakdown of Brokerage $12 and Gov't. $54.99 came from UPS receipt. The bill of lading is in euros and not in English. My credit card was charged $1476.00 from Krale, so that covers product plus shipping. The UPS collected Import Duty fee was $66.99. I suspect, since estarky mentioned paying similar $66 import fee, there might be an automatic charge once over $800 is charged. That's just a guess, though. WM
