Krale And UPS Import charge??

Bernie so what happened with UPS, did you reject the shipment?
Yes, I rejected the package to avoid paying the $860 import fees. UPS driver said package would automatically go back to Krale. But he was mistaken.

I'm dealing with Krale right to get P35X back to them and my refund minus any fees.

Specifically...

- I called Krale this morning, 2025-05-16, and they said package will stay with UPS and not automatically go back to Krale.
- If I agree via email to pay Krale the shipping fee from UPS back to Krale, then then it would go back to them for my refund.
- Krale also said that the tariffs have now been lowered from 145% to 30% and I had two options.

Option #1: Deal with UPS and try to get them to release the package to me any pay the now lower 30% tariff. Initially it was 145% or $860.

Options #2: Deal with Krale by agreeing via email to pay the shipping back to them. Krale rep said it should be around $70-$100. Then I would get my refund.

I chose Option #2 because it should be cheaper than Option #1, and Krale easier to deal with than UPS.

Krale said this process will take time, and I will give status updates when I have them.

don't folks pay attention,,, the USA and China are in a tariff war,, so let us buy a china gun from a 3rd party importer and IGNORE the fact of a tariff war is in progress
kind of like deposting money in bank during a robbery

bernie, you purchased at the wrong time window,, hope ya get out of it without losing a gun
wars have victums,, unfortunately

beer thief, wake up,, CBP is the United States Customs & Border Protection,,
edit: sorry beerthief, I forgot to include, the PRC is China,,,
People's Republic of China
IIRC,,, If I Recall Correctly
DHL,,, is just another shipping company
Thanks ( beerthief is one word 😊)

At what point did they tack on the Tarriff fee?

Was it Upon entry to the Philadelphia Depot? or after Koln/Cologne Pre clearance Ctr?

A few days later when I got the UPS email with tracking. UPS added the tariff not Krale. It was a separate invoice from UPS
I attempted to order some CF bottles from Alibaba. Alibaba is still trying to collect the May 2nd 125% tariff.

I think at this point the company's bureaucracies are still catching up to the mercurial nature of the tariff stupidity.

I am also sure legal departments worldwide are sporting wide swaths of missing hair after pulling said hair from their heads.

When I bought my P35s from Krale they used UPS as the shipper. My 3 airguns (in 2 shipments) came into the country in Kentucky. I was notified about the tarrif on the two gun shipment when they were in Kentucky. I did not have any account with UPS and I still do not. That tarriff was not a big deal, the issue was customs wouldn't release the shipment because they said there was no shipping invoice on the box. Krale said there was and refused to send another to UPS. So I got Krale to send it to me and I sent it to UPS and they presumably attached it and the problem was solved. I think I paid UPS for the tarrif before the guns left Kentucky. UPS was helpful in the end but their automated system made if very challenging to speak to a person. Once I did, the problem was identified and solved. Before that I got nonsense emails that did not help (looked like they were automatically generated and sent). It was during that little mess I started calling Krale instead of sending an email. Maybe if I had been more patient they would have answered an email but I waited a couple days and got nothing. I don't know what is customary in the Netherlands or how busy they were right then but I found that unusual.

JimD, your tip on calling Krale was a very helpful to me.

If I had not called them, my P35X would have stayed with UPS for who knows how long, and never shipped back to Krale like I thought.

I have the utmost respect for Krale. They are good folk and very easy to deal with. I will use them again when tariffs are not a big issue.

Once I called them, everything moved faster, and they gave me my options. Within and hour after getting off the phone with them, I had an email saying that they would contact UPS, find out the fee for shipping to them, and then get back to me.

It took a few days for email response, but they did respond.

However, calling them is absolutely the best way to get action. Using your mobile phone's wi-fi calling doesn't even incur a charge as long as you keep airplane mode on.

I'm glad it is working out. Now if you get the gun you want at a reasonable price.... I was surprised that Krale was so pleasant and responsive when I called them but slow at best to respond to email. I'd rather get an email any day. But we all have preferred way to communicate and I appreciate that they are so fluent in English.

I've had great experiences with their emails responses. At the most they've ever taken is 1 day, and I've gotten as many as 3-4 emails if I wake up early enough and catch the response in time.
