Kral Puncher Breaker Silent Synthetic .25 Vs Benjamin Akela .22 bullpup

Po-tay-toe.

Pa-tah-tow....

These guns are cousins. Kral PB is older design, the Akela is made by the same company for export to Crosman. The Kral is a bit more adjustable, but the Crosman has.an excellent 5 year warranty. Kral parts are not easy to get hands on, but the consumables are available from Pyramid.

I am biased. I just got back from a run around the pecan farm with my Kral. 27 grounds squirrels sent to the orchard in the sky. The gun is capable.of 100+ yard shooting, easily and at 50 yards can cloverleaf groups all day long. Mine is hopped up a little for heavy pellets and tuned down for hunting with the JSB Hades. The gun had a few teething problems with the first run, but those are long in the past.

I have not shot the Akela, but I did get hands on the Kratos. Again, my PB has been tuned and twerked a bit. I preferred the feel of my Pincher Breaker, but I did not make any changes on the Kratos. The Crosman line is getting a pretty good reputation.

6 one way or half a dozen....

The akela has a nicer stock and 5 year warranty. Worth its weight in gold if he does not want to do work on it himself. However like said above the kral has a bit more adjustment available but another option remains. He could buy a Troy tuned kral and have a much much better gun. I think it's around 800 but haven't seen the prices in awhile. If it was me I would save up 200 more and have an amazing gun that would last a lifetime.

Check out this thread on the Kral Empire X now power adjuster but a nice trigger but would have to get it from overseas. https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/any-more-info-on-the-kral-puncher-empire-and-empire-x/

I have the Kral Knight which I think is great overall but the trigger is not the post target type so your son may not like it. I got it in .22 with a .25 barrel. I like bull pups with a more forward cocking lever myself so you may want to consider than when looking at the bull pup style.
