AirMaks Arms Krait L HP .22 first shoot- PLEASE ADVICE

Regarding HP versions… if I got that correctly, Krait L have choked barrel for pellets, while L HP have unchoked and it’s for slugs. That’s the only difference I was able to find about.
Stay sharp,

I thought that was the case but I spoke to the owner of Airgun Direct.

He said all Krait L and X models that arrive to the USA are HP versions. That, what makes it an HP version, is the larger transfer port which countries that have 12fpe regulations cannot have.

So according to him, all Krait L and X are HP but you pick whether you want it choked or unchoked. Which is different from what you and I have heard/read before.

Oh nice… some new confusion in my head 😅
I’ll have to continue investigation on my Krait LHP, although ultimately; I don’t really care as long as my velocities are at the sweet spot and precision is satisfactory.
Even more… with some training I should get better and just then take the best out of my Krait 👍😎

Training is the most important thing, trigger time, trigger time, trigger time. As well as learning through your mistakes, and trying new things to see what works best.
I had a back and forth with Airmaks themselves on the issue a week ago. They said the only difference between HP and non HP in Long anyway, is choked HP vs Un-choked non HP.
Yeah that's pretty much the UA description I got as well.

I had that exactly backwards. Chocked non-Hp No choke for HP.. That's what they said.. But putting a very tight patch through my non HP, it must be a very loose choke as I'm not sure I detected it.

Yeah that's just confusing, yours should be non choked, as all Krait L and X coming to the USA are supposed to be HP versions. @Sky King has the correct info

We can always take barrels out and compare our ports, right?
I wanted to take the barrel out yesterday, but then I had 10 other things to do and I canceled the barrel work.

Here it is…

KRAIT L HP .22 barrel (520mm)

Dual port dimensions:
Width: 7mm
Lenght: 5.5mm

I can’t measure bridge in the middle but you can see approximate width.

Oh, there’s also a 5 digit number (probly serial?) and letter H at the end.
Maybe H for Heavy? IDK 🤷‍♂️

Btw. After I removed the barrel and properly cleaned it (read like a OCD maniac)- my velocities went up;
same H&N 25gr slugs are now going around 931fps with the same ES of 6.
HAPPY DAYS!

@JaceSpace1369 @MACTEN
I swear if I ever see you two guys live- we’re gonna eat some serious food, Slav style.
Rakija obligated 😅
Others who helped are also welcomed, that is a true Slav style.

That's interesting, I wonder if the H has to do with the HP specification. Thanks for taking the time to check everything out!

My serial number begins with the number five, however no H or any letters for that matter. Seems logical it means Heavy.
