KOOL FX DREAM-PUP REVIEW!

NEW ACCESSORIES:

One month with the FX Dream-Pup and a couple thousand rounds later... Funny how I seem to come up with good ideas away from my airgun, at work, analyzing the shooting experience in my mind. Smartphones just make it too easy to order airgun stuff online. Anyways, I wasn’t comfortable with the Dream-Pups “length of pull” for my arm length. Felt like I was drawing the bullpup too close and it didn’t feel natural and comfortable when holding at various shooting positions. So, I added a length of pull or shoulder pad extension. aka. FX Wildcat stock double magazine holder. So much more comfortable and natural length of pull for me. Also changed out the Hawke Sidewinder FFP’s parallax side-focus wheel to a sleeker 2.5 inch wheel with custom field-tested yardage labels. Check these pictures out.

NEW TUNE:

The idea... Shoot JSB 25.39 Re-designed Monsters at a useable speed. Wasn’t satisfied with 775 FPE @ 33.87 a little slow for flat shooting out to 50 yards( my preference). Let me just add that the FX Dreamline’s external tuning capabilities make tuning so much easier than the old way of tearing a gun all the way down. At most all I’ve done is remove the stock to get at the goodies, which is only one screw on the Dream-Pup. Ultimately I had to raise my regulator pressure to 140 bar, adjust the hammer tension in some ( knob on MAX ), and switch the transfer port to .25/.30. Results, roughly 810 FPS @ 36 - 37 FPE, 45 shots per fill at this tune! Flat shooting with a 20 yard zero shooting out to 50 yards, just 10 clicks up on the Sidewinder’s elevation turret! Just as accurate ( maybe more ) than JSB Heavy 18.13’s. See pics:

Here is the beauty of the FX Dreamline’s design. If l want to return to my most used tune for JSB Heavy 18.13’s it’s easy. Just dial my transfer port back to .177/.22, dial the hammer spring adjuster knob back to “A”, and click my Sidewinder elevation back down 10 clicks to it’s true zero. Like magic! Shooting JSB18.13’s @ 930 FPS for 34 FPE. 50 shots per fill. Picture and 16 shot string below. I think the AMP regulator is broken in shot strings are ridiculously tight!

WOW, that nice Joe. I really like all the knobs adjusters outside and easy to change up on the fly. My WC MKII in 22 with an Huma HP reg set at 170bar and the hammer turned in all the way (I need more hammer) is shooting the JSB 25.39 @ 895FPS. But you know what a pain it is to pull the gun apart to make changes. Sucks big time. The new Dreamline looks like it's going to be a winner with all the new bits and pieces coming out.

Thanks, and I hear you bro! Takes some work to tune up a PCP by tearing it down. Worst part is when it doesn’t perform or leaks after going back together. Guess what...? Gotta do it all over.

Too Kool for words Joe! Great review, very well written, and you definitely hit all the high points. Now Wildcat lovers can have all the advantages of the Streamline and the adjustability of the Cown. I would love to shoot that Beauty.

Thanks CHUCK! Your post are legendary, learned a lot from you! A true airgun tuning enthusiast!!

Freaking awesome review bro, I just fell in love with my Dream Pup. 25 all over again, sad part is I hot it for sale right now lol, oh well, maybe I need to think things out more, thank you

Awesome review, thanks. So if a guy was looking for a new gun, wildcat mk111 or dream pup?

I own both.. DreamPup .22 & Wildcat MKIII Sniper .25 they’re awesome. Customized and upgraded since this post was made, it made them even better for me!

Glad you like the review!!

Nice one Joe, great review really! Just curious about the settings with the transfer port as you set it on .25/.30 and you are using a pellet of .22?
In my FX Dreamline i have only the Low, Mid and High (.177,.22 and .25/.30 -- I believe in your dial?) when I set my dial to High and using .22 pellet, the velocity drops. I just get a great velocity only on Mid.
