Newbie here, I have a Kodiak and the the thing has been all over the place out of the box. Both calibers erratic, on a bench. Using Premier pellets from WM. New scope, and rings with blue loctite. Picatanny no creep base. Bought for critters around property but can't hit nothing. Retired LEO Rangemaster and shooting for years. This one has me stumped. I ordered HN pellets, they will be here in couple days. By the way, it has three different sounds when I shoot....a spring thud , a spring air sound, and a .22 crack with gas/smoke. Thinking about trashing it and buying a Gamo . Any advice.....

Have you tried using the artillery hold? The crack you are hearing is caused by dieseling, this is common in new springers and can take a few shots to get rid of. Springers tend to have a violent action, idk how good a springer could be that has interchangeable barrels.

Try a PCP if you get a chance they are a lot more expense to get all the equipment but in the end accuracy is much better specially at longer distances (50-100+) yards.

I just watched a video explaining the Artillery hold,(Did not know it had an actual name), and why it works for spring guns. Very informative. I will put it to use.
