Knock off yong heng is there a difference ?

I don’t have a “knock off” yong heng and I’m sure some are better than the others but they probably made in the same factory. Given the knock offs aren’t much cheap I didn’t bother but that might be different now. I would buy it if it is a good amount cheaper.

just look at stuff on eBay and Amazon, same exact thing with 30 different brand/label, just saying. They don’t make anything in small batches in China, everything is made by the millions.

I would have to think that some are different in both parts and QC. There are many that look the same but I have seen that some of the internals are slightly different which would make it harder to get parts for if you could at all. I stick to the genuine model as I know I can get parts and where to find them.

Yeah, the difference you've noted shows the fallacy of "they're all generic chinese". Some are undoubtedly different than others. How to tell what is what seems to be the issue.

I have a compressor that does not have Yong Heng written on the side of it. It is plane blue with a metal tag that gives the specs. the manual shows it to be a YH and the tag shows it was made Oct. 2020. It looks exactly like my other YH, with the same outer components and it appears to have the same model designation.

Is this considered a knock off model or did some Yong Heng units come through like this? Anyone know?

Even the Yong Heng units are knock-offs The Davv branded ones were around before the YH. All the different brands have easy to distinguish differences from each other mainly in the plumbing. If your unit is exactly the same as your first one with the plumbing and external bleed blocks being interchangeable then it is a YH-made unit. The so-called knock-offs are not exact copies. The crap about the genuine YH having the white stenciled logo on the side is just that, crap. Some do some don't. Some have the name of the retail dealer on the side. They will print whatever you want on the side if you buy enough of them.

Good to know, thanks.

Looks like I got a Don Lemon, it is slow to fill and develops heat very fast compared to my original. I was stimulated so I bought it as a backup just in case. It has good water flow, proper oil and all connections are tight. I even switched the fill hose and its parts to be sure I wasn't loosing air from that area. Now we see how good the dealer and / or e-Bay's return and refund works.
