King Heavy MKII vs. FX .25 Hybrid.

Interesting comparison between Heavies and the Hybrids. Graphs are from Shooter.

Okay...okay!

With the correction of the BC I can now pick my jaw up off the floor.😄

Yesterday, I shot groups (5 shots each) with the FX Hybrids from my Impact with the "Superior" barrel at 100 yards and the groups were very good -- from ~ 2.5 inches to .75 inches.

Not so impressive that I will totally give up on the more-economical JSB 33.95 Redesigned, though.

If the FX Hybrids work for you maybe try the NSA 26.8 grain slugs. They just might be just as good and 1/3 the price.

I have a batch of the NSA 26.8 grain slugs. If memory serves, they were erratic at 20 yards. I will try them again. 🤞

Thanks

Addendum: As a matter of fact, this was with the FX Slug liner (when I tested the 26.8 gr NSA), not the newer "Superior liner".

After attempting to tune for Hybrids, I have determined I can't afford to tune for Hybrids. I think I'll tune for MKIIs and run a tin through to break in the barrel. I couldn't get over about 1040, even bumping the reg to 150. I think the Superior is tighter than the STX pellet liner, which hit 1060's on the MKII tune.

I'm not sure why I got the Hybrids, curiosity, I guess. I've heard the Superior likes NSA 29.0, 29.5, and 33.5. If I can find an NSA that works well, which sounds likely, I'll shoot those. Good prices and shipping.

I couldn't get the Hybrids over 1040. Was looking for 1070 as a starting point on a recommendation. Decided to tune for the 33.95s, but could barely get 960 out of them. Not sure if the barrel is that much different, or if I've got some sort of cross-mojination going on between reg pressure and hammer spring tension. Ran out of pellets, so I'll have to try again another day.

With the pre Superior pellet liner, it was one shaggy hole at 35 yards. In attemoting to tune the Standard Superior liner, I'd get 4 or five in one hole, then get a fler or two. FPS was all over the place. I'm expecting basically one hole grouping when I great it settled. This is with 33.95 MKIIs. Hybrid grouping was also very encouraging. Even at 35 yards.
