Killing the dark ones.

Did pretty well for a 2 hour pest hunt at the farm. Same rules as last time. Only shoot the dark birds. We are attempting to make a white flock. Shots taken from 15-60 yards. I had two times where I got two with one shot using the huntsman regal .22 with Jsb 18.1gr. One of the birds has a deformed foot. Any idea as to what caused it?

Yes it was crazy. I haven’t been there in weeks and they were as tame as ever. It almost took the fun out of it shooting 2 or three every time before they would relocate. Almost. Lol

Yes I cleaned them up and will have them tomorrow. That’s what I was thinking. Maybe frost bite?

I agree! I was going to try for other small game. I think I made the right call.

Bumblefoot is correct. Common problem for birds due to an injury which is an abscess healed over. Turkeys, ducks which I have hunted have had this ailment as well barnyard flocks such as chickens.

That foot may have gotten in a rat/mouse trap. I've heard of people placing them on known roost. Or just stepped in one some place with a rodent problem like in a barn or near some kind of feed

Really!! Do you guys eat the pigeons? I didn't think you could eat those because they carry diseases and rabies.

I would eat wild dove for sure they seem to be clean birds.
