I set out today to do a little target shooting in my back yard. Things came to an abrupt halt after lining up for my first shot.
I was going to shoot my FX Royale 500 and after/during the first shot I heard a loud bang. After I collected myself and checked for "soilage", I looked at the rifle to see what the problem was. Well, I shot the entire endcap off of the rifle. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this happen to them but it certainly is a first for me. And not something I want repeated.
I looked outside for the parts and found them about 15 yards away. Nothing was damaged. It looks like the pellet cleared before the endcap blew off. I have enclosed a few pics.
Please everyone out there lets be careful with these "toys". They can be very dangerous. I intend to use quite a bit of threadlocker when I put it back in place. Hopefully that will do the trick.
And please no FX bashing. This rifle is quite a few years old and adhesives sometimes fail unfortunately.
Be safe in the New Year.
Keith.
