Recently acquired a new Katran SC .177 (tuber) and absolutely love it. Out of the box, it was pretty inefficient and seemed to be wasting a lot of air and low on shot count. I followed the tuning instructions from post 6 of this
Thread . That thread seems to have died, so thought I'd start a new one.
Gun has a Huma regulator in it that was set right around 75-80 bar according to the Huma tape and seemed about right when shooting. I went up to 120 bar on the Huma gauge, tested and seems like it's falling off more like 100-110 bar. Shot count is much better now (filling to 300 bar). Accuracy is spot on, however the FPS is ranging from 800-850 on the crony. Not very consistent. Where should I start adjusting to get more consistency on the FPS? Ideally, I'd like to be around 800 fps, more consistent and 4 mags would be ideal. Currently I'm getting just over 3x18 shot mags.
What I've done so far: Tightened/maxed the adjustable valve collar, bumped the regulator up from 80 to 110 bar (approx.) and adjusted the trigger spring screw to get FPS as close to 825 fps as possible.
Still trying to get a grip on how to generally tune air guns, and understand what adjustments effect what. Any advice greatly appreciated.
