Doh! My bad. Read you post wrong... You are right. I wrote to Kalibrgun; they confirmed 'its not available now or in next two years (as of now) as they are more focused on new models, ie cricket 2, Argus, etc'.
In summary don't wait for it. Basically you either like what you see today of the Capybara and buy it for what it is or don't.
I snatched one up.. haven't had a chance to play with it yet, however per AoA's testing sheet that came with my gun, 18gr @ ~895; almost one ragged hole at 20yd. Am happy; looks good; balances great, with 1 (18 shot) magazine. Overall a winner in my books compared with a lot of current bullpup offerings.
Reliability... dunno, time will tell.

Yes, very beautiful gun. Looks like it was made pretty sturdy as well. Wow 2 years to wait for a semi when it was announced in 2018 that it would come out initially as semi? That stinks, wouldve been cool if it was out now. I maybe get one, little undecided between this one and the argus though. I was the capybara had a bipod mount with pic rail.

For sure if they offered this in semi form, I would bet it can/would sell hugely. I'd say even more so than the new Argus... even if was just in .22 only. But hey what do I know.
Well build and sturdy yes.. though wouldn't say its build like a tank as it a bit on the slimmer/purposeful side. (The Argus looks more had intention to be built like a tank than this Capybara.)
As for adding on pic mount, not sure if possible here as the wooden handle pieces are two halves screwed together. So if you were to drill the mount screw smack in the middle, not sure how sturdy if at all, or if would do damage to the handle pieces overall. Either way this gun feels light/ very well balanced and more suitable for non-bipod use. Durability and non-semi offering aside (as again I have no long term experience with it yet), I'd definitely buy it again. For sure its not just another bullpup in feel and design. AND that aluminum, 18-shot magazine is a winner vs the rest in the pack offering 14 or 10shot magazines. (And additional magazines are affordable at about $30 a piece vs others that run $50-$90/per.)

Don't hold your breath for a semi auto kit for this rifle. The Colibri was originally supposed to be semi auto but that was aborted because it didn't function as intended so they yanked out the semi auto parts and sold it as just a normal magazine fed multi shot after the fact. This was part of the reason the Colibri had so many issues for so many people.
The latest revision was announced a looooong time ago (you can find threads on it dating back 4-5yrs) and they're finally reaching the US now as a regular multi shot. Given Kalibrguns history, I'd bet that this rifle will never get to semi auto.
