KaliberGun Cricket II

I got my .30 Cricket 2 late Saturday and scoped and leveled it yesterday. I just finished sighting it in at thirty yards. The wind is blowing too hard to sight in any farther. It came from AOA shooting 44.7's averaging 915 fps and 83 fpe. I shot from 270 bar to 180 bar for 20 shots. The barrel has twist of 29.9 and put the pellets in almost the same hole for ten shots. The hole was just a bit larger than the pellet. The slow twist should keep pellets stable at higher velocity at 100 plus yards. I don't like the mag insertion, but I will get used to it. Cocking is not hard, but what I would call clunky. I got the synthetic and it is solid with no hollow sound. Fit and finish are great. Next I will shoot over the Airchrony and see how much more it has with the HS adjustment and find the sweet spot where it comes off the regulator. Later, Hump Camel

The Cricket 2 has a larger plenum. I don't know if they changed any internals. It is not very loud to me, but my hearing is not very good and I am in the country. One thing that I need to investigate is the scope took a lot of horizontal adjustment to center. The rail may be off a bit. The rings are spaced far apart and moving them close might do it. I'll know more when I shoot farther out.

I have never liked the traditional bullpup rear cocking lever placement. The new placement ambidextrous design is an incredible improvement. I wonder if they have improved the FPS and FPE on this new model. Can't wait to see real numbers in the .22 in these areas.

Just shot a string today with my Cricket II in .22. Here is it shooting down through the regulator's set point at 35 fpe with FX 18.1 grain pellets.

And if you remove the ending (off-reg) shots, here are the stats:

And this is what it looks like shooting a bit slower (32 fpe) with the same pellets. This was one turn less on the hammer spring. I have not touched the regulator yet. The end of this string is dramatically different than the 35 fpe string. If weather permits, I will try to do one more full string in between these two. Oh, the 35 fpe string was from a 250 bar fill and the 32 fpe string was from (I think) was from a 270 bar fill.

In case you're interested, it will do 40 fpe with JSB monster redesigned pellets 👍
