Kahles K1050i FT 10-50x56

The optical quality so it's really good. The big downside I found on the Kahles 10-50 line is the very critical eye-alignment in a rather small eyebox. This means that you have to be perfectly aligned to have a good image, as soon as you deviate a little the resolution drops real fast. I have not found this same "issue" in the Sightron S3 10-50 and the Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60 (which I currently have and love 😁 )

How do you define long range FT?

Parallax adjustment on that scope is from 8 to 60 meters.

Wow, good catch!!!! I read 8m to infinity. Checking other sites' specs on this scope does, indeed say up to 60m!!! I'd need to see splatter target POI out much further (150m), and parallax down to 30m or less would be great. HUGE thanks, I almost bought one and would have been disappointed haha!

You're the second person now that has recently praised the Golden Eagle! Which reticle are you using?

This only concerns the K1050i FT model. The K1050 model goes from 8 to infinity.

I have the ECR-1 reticle in my golden eagle. I use it for fixed distance (100 meter) so the middle dot is really nice but i like the MOAK reticle from kahles a bit more because of the extra top pole with hash marks. The ECR-1 is a T style reticle.

Yeah, unfortunately the trade off from what I can see is illumination. Their glass seems really great though. I'm becoming more interested in the K624 (the SKMR3 reticle looks to be great as well).

I went to see an ATACR 7-35 yesterday, and I was really impressed with the ED glass. The shop said they had a MIL-C and Horus Tremor3 in stock, but they only had the one with other MIL reticle (that seems to cover up too much of the target). They have a couple of March optics on order for me to look at, hopefully one of them works out - if not, I may take a shot with ordering a Kahles or an ATACR.

Side note, I finally got to see a 5-20x56 SHV yesterday in person. I was very surprised by the entire package, so I bought one for hunting (C535 with the illuminated MOAR). I'm going to try it out tomorrow and see how it does for me, if the 20x is decent for longer range paper - I think a ~24-25x might be ok for my FT needs.
