Just washed two tins of JSB Exact King Heavy .25 cal pellets 33.95 gr

I was saying in another post that my fingers were getting extremely dirty when shooting these pellets in my Condor SS. Also my barrel was getting extremely dirty and when cleaning it, it is almost impossible to pull a clean patch through, even after using many of them. So I decided to clean them and lube them like i do for my .177 Crosman Premiere brown box pellets for my springer. I can't believe how many small filings were left behind after washing the .25 JSB pellets. And after lubing them and drying them they looked nice and clean and handling them a little wasn't a filthy mess. Im not saying anything bad about the pellets....they are awesome and i use them almost exclusively now. But I wonder if this will help with accuracy and barrel cleanliness?

Those Fat Kings in Mk 1 and 2 really do have some thick slimy to the touch Lube on them. Lol

Ive never found that specific Lube (type or quantity) on any other JSB from .177 to .357

I have not found them to be especially dirty or with free lead chunks but I could see how they could attract and retain dirt.

i have been spraying mine with R.E.M. Dry Lube spray which dries almost instantly. Been doin this since day 1 of the unveiling of these. The R.E.M. Dry Lube goes over the sticky substance and kinda seals it all in where they become dry to the touch. No apparently extra leading up of .25 ST, CZ, or LW barrels.

what are you using to clean them to get that slime off? Would like to try that.

regardless of the slime - in my guns. - there ain't no denying the Fat King's accuracy and great BC! Maybe it's like a secret sauce?

i just wash with dish soap and warm water in a small container. I swirl it around and dump it out gently to a strainer and rinse. Then I repeat the process. After the pellets dry i spray some pledge in a pellet tin lid and place some pellets in and swirl around tin they are coated. After that i dry the pellets with my heat gun or my wifes hair dryer if she isn't looking. lol Then I make sure the new tin is clean and put them in. Works great for my 177 TX200. I hope it helps and i will let you know next week. I may try the REM dry lube. Might be easier than drying the pellets.

Ok. Maybe it is just because my condor ss is a single load and I'm handling them more than a magazine fed gun. I have been shooting the grizzlies and about 60 of the hunters supply 49 grain bullets also. I wonder if the barrel fouling is because of their shape and the choke on the barrel? Maybe it isn't the JSB??? Im going to do a heavy cleaning of the barrel and see if there is a difference with using the JSB pellets only for a while. And since this newer big caliber pellet is new to me, maybe I'm just not used to the sheer area difference of the pellet and the "bigger mess" it makes compared to my .177. Either way.... nothing shoots as good as these pellets in my gun. So even dirty fingers and having to clean the barrel more often would be worth it. Hopefully the cleaning and lubing of the pellets helps and not hurts accuracy???
Thanks for the input!

Easier way to remain sticky stuff free you might try out. I've been doing this since about April 2016 when MK1 were first widely available.

Open tin of slimy Fat Kings MK1 or 2. Spread out on paper towel to a single layer of pellets. Spray lightly with Rem drilube from 8 inches away. Roll around pellets on towel to expose other side. Lightly spray again. In less than 5 minutes, the pellets will be totally dry and somehow fully encapsulates the sliminess. (Like a slimy contained by force field lol).

Ready to shoot. Fingers stay clean, pellets don't attract dust and dirt. Mags stay cleaner. Barrel stays cleaner longer for ST, LW and CZ. I make no claim on change to accuracy but I do like the other benefits.
