Just ordered i hope to be a good compressor.

I did have a GX CS3 PCP Air Compressor for my .25 A venger. It did well at about 200 Bar but,, when i tryed to go to 300 bar it started to knock and loose oil.IT WENT BACK. still under warranty. So i have ordered TUXING 4500Psi Pcp Air Compressor,Double Cylinder High Pressure Pump,Adjustable Presssure,Air Rifles Paintball Tank 110V(TXED012) this i think will hold up.

That Tuxing unit is a generic Chinese 2-stage compressor. Many units branded and sold under different names. And the various brands have different levels of on-board cooling and control systems (from full manual control to those which will shut off at a specified pressure and will auto-purge), and therefore vastly differing list prices.

But the motor and 2-stage compressor seem to be basically the same in all of them.

I have gone through a bunch of these and like anything Chinese, the quality will be variable. You can be fortunate and get a good one, or one which works initially but doesn't last, or one which doesn't even work right out of the box.

If upon set-up and break-in your unit appears to be working well, I recommend that you use it as much as possible during any potential return period. Hopefully when working these compressors will have a standard MTBF failure curve, where they will either fail very early, or last a good long time. So you want to assure if the failure happens early, you can still return it.

i have only had the one made in china compressor and it failed. both of you are so right, it will go back the first sign of trouble. I do use a compressor a lot. i live where i can shoot from my back yard up to 50 yrds and lots of farm land, i will report how it is going one i receive it in about 3 weeks.

I have one branded as a Hatsan Lightning. Life span was 14 months. Ordered an Alkin W31 Vertical Compressor and should receive it Monday. Also had a booster pump, it only lasted 18 months. Save yourself a bunch of money and just save up and get a real compressor. In the long run it will be a lot cheaper. Wish I had ordered the Alkin before I wasted so much money on junk.

Well it is water cooled which is a big plus. With any luck it will last as long as a Yong Heng but like the Yong Heng it is made in China so there will be QC problems.

Depending on your environment you may need more of a water separator or filter than what is supplied. Keep us up to date on how it werqs out for you.

I'll vouch for the QC problems in China. Most people absolutely love the Yong Hengs from what I've seen. Me - Well, it's been a LEMON from day 1. I'll probably need to retire the unit I have and YES I will buy another Yong Heng. At the price point of $250, it has to considered disposable. I'll use the old one as a donor machine for any repairs.

Tuxing seems to be mostly the same parts as the Yong Heng with a different design for moving the air around, and a bit different take on the cooling. Keep it cool and it should last a good long time.

Another thing to consider, mine is a couple years old. Maybe, just maybe, the quality is better now. If my compressor continues fail, I'll just get another and yes, it'll either be a Tuxing or Yong Heng. The design is good. When it works, it really works well. Do keep me posted, I am curious! I wish you luck!

One thing I learned is in the cooling area. The compressors put out lots of heat, and it needs to be controlled. I've seen people use ice, radiators, and all sorts of things to keep the water cool. You might try just using fresh water at all times. In other words, don't pump the water back into the water bucket, pump it down the drain. Keep adding fresh water to the bucket and always have cool water. It's a hassle, but the best I've found so far.

Totally agree with this.

I run a garden hose into the bucket and the yong heng outflow goes down the drain or on the ground and it has made a huge improvement on the temperature and I'm using the pump that came with it.
