Just ordered a new lathe.

Once upon a time, I had a nice atlas and a little sherline. Those are long gone but I was back in the market for a small mini lathe that could suffice my airgun needs. I just ordered a grizzly 7x14 and some various tooling and such. Does anyone else have this machine or similar? Are there any specific chucks or tooling that you find to be a must have?

Since I just ordered a CTK Precision vise with all the different attachments and recently finished my .30 Marauder build, my budget was limited to the lathe and some basic tooling. In the near future, I will get a 4" 4 jaw chuck and a quick change tool holder. I am slowly putting my gun shop back together and once I have all the tooling and needed add ons for the lathe, I also plan to add a mini mill as well.

AJ if you can find an Emco they are a very nice small lathe way better than the Grzzly. Don't get Enco and Emco confused Emco is made in Austria and Enco is an import like the Grizzly. Enco has the same line of small lathes that Grizzly has and they are usually cheaper even Harbor Freight sells that same lathe.

The 7x14 is a little bigger than the ones I linked to and that was a good price. I have a 1340 Jet but I used to have a nice little South Bend 10K and the 9x20 HF.

Yes, the emco unimats are really nice but hard to find. Even though they are all imported, I chose the Grizzly because it has a better tailstock and comes with more accessories than the others. A local airgun builder has a Grizzly 7x14 and one of their big mills. He recommended Grizzly because of their service and support.

I also looked at micromark as they are said to be one of the best imports, but I was unable to find much info or reviews of that unit.
