Well, I did it - got me my first 177 cal air rifle. All my other air rifles are .22, I do have one .25 cal. I'm handicapped and no longer hunt with an air rifle (I'm an above the knee, right leg amputee), so, when it comes to my air rifles, I've become a target shooter, I can sit in my wheel chair and use one of my trash cans as a rest.
Since I can't use a hand pump, I picked up a small Air Venturi II PCP 4500 portable air compressor. I'm using it to air up my other PCP's and it's working fine. No way it'll charge my 66 cu ft SCBA tank, though - well I guess it could, but it's not recommended.
So, for the SCBA tank, I just ordered the bigger Air Venturi 4500 air compressor from Joe Broncato of ExpertHPA.com.
I think I got a good deal on Amazon for the .177 m-rod, $454.96, and being a Prime member, free shipping. I did find one on eBay, brand new, for a few dollars less, but I like Amazon's return policy.
