Just my luck! Arrrrr

Just when you figure you found a scope that will satisfy your needs it becomes discontinued. What the hey! Now I'm back to the daunting task of finding that perfect scope once again.

I really liked the older Vortex Diamomondback 4-12x40 with the 10 yrd min. parallax. Talked a couple of buddies in purchasing these and when it came around for me to purchase one they're discontinued. OK, decided to take up the next offering by Vortex, HP 2-8x32, even had a side focus but min. parallax was 20 yrds, still doable. Found it to be satisfactory on a spring gun. Decided to purchase another one and find this model to be discontinued. What the hey!

My favorite PCP scope is the 6500 elite series, one in particular; 2.5-16x42 mill dot, side focus, parallax down to 10 yrs, short and light. Great for my Bullpup. Have a little extra change (doesn't happen often) and thought it was time to purchase another 6500. I charish the idea that I can have the same scope for all my guns but usually can't afford such. What do you know, you guessed it - the 6500 discontinued! What the hey.

I am particular when choosing optics for my air rifles more so than choosing the rifle, go figure. I prefer German glass (when I can afford it, those days are gone) and Japan glass over China glass. Just wish I wasn't so picky.

I imagine I'm not alone in my quest for that particular scope only to become discontinued.

Cheers

I bought a vortex diamondback tactical 4-16x44 for my 308 for deer hunting. I liked it so much I just went back and bought another. It has really clear glass and it’s ffp with a good reticle. It has a minimum parallax of 20 yards but I think it can focus a bit closer than that. I think they’re in the $350 range and worth it IMO. They might be something to look into.

I checked out the 6500 at Natchez but still prefer the 42 mm optic and the lower turrets. Their price was a little more than I can afford at this time, maybe fine a used one down the road.

I checked out the vortex you mentioned seems to be a nice scope. The reticle is a little busier than I like, but does grow on you the more I check it out. Time will tell.

Thanks guys.
