Hello Everyone,
I just bought a Diana 470 Target Hunter. I have admired this gun for many years, but was afraid to purchase it without "trying it on" as I wasn't sure if my finger would reach the trigger with my thumb around the grip. As luck would have it, I was able to shoulder one a few months back and it fit like a glove. Months passed and then I found a deal that I could not pass up. I originally wanted it in .22 caliber, but the deal was for the .177 caliber only. If it shoots as well as I think it will I'll still probably get one in .22 cal too. Pictures do not do it justice, but here you go-
When it came I opened the packaging and was surprised to see the gun box was labeled RWS. The gun is labeled RWS too. I know that RWS is just the importer of various Diana guns, but I thought that the 470 was Diana all the way? This gun was made in 2015, so it sat on a shelf for a long time.
I have a 34P that is stamped RWS and Diana (with Diana logo lady). It has Diana engraved into the stock as well. Built 2014. Terrible photo, but the scope is in the way-
For those that have a 470-
1-What year was it made?
2-What does your gun have stamped on it? Diana trademark lady or RWS?
3-Does it have a safety warning stamped on the receiver?
4-What scope and mounts do you use? Drooper base?
5-Does your bear trap release lever ride against the compression tube? Does it scratch the finish off? Mine is tight to the tube and I do not want to scratch the finish.
6-What cleaner/protectant should I use on the finish? I know it isn't blued and is some type of paint.
I look forward to shooting the gun and am curious if any changes occurred over the years. Once it breaks in and I have some time with it I will post a little review. My scope just came today and I need to figure out the mounts/base still, so please tell me what you use.
Thanks!
