I will throw one other critical consideration into your decision making process. Read the hunting regulations (as they apply to Air Rifles) for all of the states you intend to hunt in.
Different states have various requirements for minimum caliber for hunting larger fur bearers, such as Raccoon. If you are planning on hunting in a state which requires .25 caliber, then your choice is made. My state breaks down game in 4 categories. Small Critters (rabbit, squirrel), Fur Bearers (fox, coyote, raccoon), Large Game (Deer, Javelina, mountain lion, bear), and critters you simply cannot hunt with an air rifle (moose, turkey). Your choice of game and state will define what you should get.
