Just Acquired an Air Arms EV 2 Mark lV.

Hello Nation,

I am the recent owner of an Air Arms EV2, Mark lV.

It was recently sent away for service a few months ths ago, and is in excellent condition.

I have several high end guns, but am not familiar with the EV 2. I have a RAW TM1000, Steyr LG 110, Challenger, and several Marauders, all set at 12 ft. Lbs.

My questions are,

Does the EV2 have any quirks or issues that I might need to know about? Possible flaws?

What kind of barrel is installed in the EV2? (Original barrel is on the gun)

Are any other regulators interchangeable with the original? I have many spares from all of the guns listed above, and am curious if the diameter on one of them might be the same.

At sub 12 foot lbs, how many shots should I expect to get out of a full fill?

Thanks in advance, before the end of the month, I'll have some new informational videos on my Field Target Tech Channel.

You should get 120 shots or so. You can only swap out the reg with one made for it. The trigger is nice so adjust as you like. LW barrel. If it's been serviced all you need to do is shoot it. Also one thing to check is stock fit. Tight is ok but if there are rub marks in the inletting try releaving it then resealing it. I think that's about it.

Thanks John.

I was hoping the diameter of some of my other regs would fit it, figured I might get lucky. I'll order a spare one from Lane if that's the case, this way I'll have a good drop in spare if the need arises, which is why I asked that question.

This was the EV2 Tom W got last year, and used in several matches. He's going to get a gun within the next few weeks that's more suitable for hunter PCP class, which is why he let it go. Think he's looking at the laminate FAC regulated S510.

They are essentially the same breech block beginning with the RN-10, then ProTarget, then EV with changes to regs, then going to side cocking and accessorizing with the EV. Triggers are very good and are all the same. Regs for any SHOULD interchange as far as I know. In the 2001 Nationals in Atlanta , there was a guy, Tommy Garland , I believe, that was making after market regs that were supposedly VERY good. My wife shot her "Blue Baby" ProTarget for the first time there, so I remember it from that perspective and in that era, there were a lot of competitors with reg issues . Joe Korick from Washington also has produced some. The RN10 reg was crap, period. The ProTarget reg was fine but hers has needed resealed about every 5 years, no matter what kind of seals I use. I bought a second ProTarget reg and have it in my 12 ft/lb RN10 at 105 Bar. Hers is 19.5 at 117 bar. 21 and 23 inch barrels, respectively. Wish I had picked up a Garland reg. I believe Welham in England offered one that was considered very good by the Brits. Not sure if he is still around.

Kind of a mixed bunch of info but they are pretty nice shooting rifles. Congrats on a nice acquisition.
