Good evening all. I’m fairly new to the group as well as air gunning. 
I came into some money (tax returns) and decided to go for the dream. FX impact .30, I though hey I have a scuba tank I’ll be good on air. Until I got home from work today and looked at my tank. 3000 psi. My question is will that still work? I understand it will only fill Vera (my impact) up to 3000 not the max of 36, but should still work right..... 
Any help, advice, or critiques welcome.

It will result in a diminishing fill pressure with each fill however you will be able to use the Impact at a diminishing reduced shot count till your fill pressure matches your regulated pressure. Ideal performance no, but it is usable.

​Until the carbon fiber tanks showed up on the market, the scuba tank at 3000 PSI was the standard. It'll work fine. First fill will be a full 3000, next might be 2900, then lower each fill. The regulator is probably set at about 140 bar (that's about 2048 PSI. 1 Bar is 1 atmosphere at sea level, which if 14.7 PSI. ) as long as the fill is above 2100 PSI or so, you can keep using the scuba tank, then just get it refilled. just fewer shots per fill. Carbon fiber tanks with fill hoses and such start at around $350 for the Air Venturi setup, that's an 88 cubic inch tank. Larger tanks go up in price.

​My Impact in .25 just showed up today. I've been saving for it for a couple years, and finally bought. Welcome to a sport that'll you'll enjoy to the exclusion of all else. Why else do we refer to it as the "Dark Side"?

Gunny, I take it you're in a area that has access to Scuba shops to fill a tank to 4500 psi? If so that tank will do for now but it will get old really quick.
Save up and invest in good carbon fiber tank.
You're gonna want to shoot that thing all the time!
It's gonna eat air like there's no tomorrow. Especially in .30 cal.
I don't really have a scuba shop in my area that is willing to fill past 3000 psi so I got my own budget compressor. (Yong Heng) and a 30min MSA carbon fiber tank. I use the tank to fill my P-rod. My Impact I just fill it direct with the compressor. Works great!
Compressors are getting really affordable these days. That might be a good alternative to a tank for you if the Impact is your only PCP.
