JTS Airacuda Max Trigger… UGH!

Okay,
I obtained a JTS Airacuda Max from the classifieds about a week ago. I just got it in and was very impressed with the fit and finish. That was until I went to pull the trigger. What a sloppy mess. It was gritty, jumpy and not predictable at all. Now granted, this is a prototype gun. Maybe it is not as refined as the production model. Guys who have been into the trigger group on their production model Airacuda please chime in. So, I decided to go to work. I opened up the trigger group and was relieved to find a very simple mechanism. Simple but extremely rough. So rough, I had to use a file before even starting with my usual 240 sandpaper. So, on all the contact points, I used my file to remove a majority of the tooling marks. Then I worked my way from 240-1500. Not quite a mirror finish, but very close. I then lubed all contact points with Hi-Slip. Did my adjustments to get a nice and light 1st stage with a clean, light and predictable 2nd stage. This trigger is 100% better now. Seriously guys, it looked like the trigger mechanism parts were cut out with an angle grinder. I’m not even joking. Now I can start my accuracy testing. I’d like to know if the condition of this trigger is abnormal or is it on par with other JTS Airacudas? Thanks guys and happy shooting!

I have a pre production but one of the later ones not in the first batch that were sent out. Mine took some definite adjusting to get better but didn't see any issue on the finish of the sear parts. I find it is it's weak point in the gun. It's still nice after adjustment but im used to my Evol trigger which is among the best out there. But machining otherwise on the gun is pretty outstanding at its price point
