JTS Airacuda and Airacuda Max Introductions

What is a thimbled barrel?

From the photos they've shared over on GTA, looks to simply be the configuration where the transfer port isn't drilled in the barrel but rather a separate brass piece, kinda like the FX soda straw barrel configuration.

I think I saw Motorhead say it's threaded on this JTS gun though, so can't be clocked/indexed.

Correct ... was originally stated to be a thimble which would allow barrel clocking independent of transfer port, but it screws on so that really makes it a breech extension of barrel ... may have been a lost in translation moment .. Oups

Here is my personal .22 MAX set up for some Field Target duty in "Hunter PCP" class.

While .22 is not ideal for FT ... it can be used w/o issue outside easier splits and a loopier trajectory profile.

Going to shoot DIABLO match next weekend with it and see how it does.

I set my Max .25 at 30 FPE getting a bunch of shots and if I set the regulator lower I should get quite a few more.

Ok here we go,

Filled to 200 BAR
I think the regulator is set around the 140 BAR mark and you will see the spike in velocity around shot 45.

I then stopped when the velocity was back around 750 fps and the gun was down to 90 BAR

This is with 25gr JSBs

Don't think so, just different finishes.

Get out that trusty magnet Manny. If they do use two different tube materials, just kinda curious why. Is the regulated Max using a tube and reg that has already been proven to work well on other guns originating from that factory?

Magnet sticks to the standard tube.

Manny I know you cannot really decide what others might want but out of the two for hunting would you choose. Remember I am going for .22 cal. I need it to be a swishsssss. The entire reason I am playing with air is to not have to hear bang. I am hoping to dump more time into the pcp world then my powder burners.

thammer that threaded shroud sounds great.
