JTS 22.07 at 75 Yards - Results & Thoughts

This past Tuesday I was out shooting 100 yards with my .30 Wildcat Mk2. The wind kicked up and my lighting at 100 yards got tough - my 100 yard target is in the woods and its dark at certain times.

So, I brought along my .22 FX PowerPup and .25 RTI Prophet (I'll cover .25 results in another post) to test JTS pellets at longer distances.

I picked 75 yards because my target was in the sun. Conditions were windy - windy enough to get me to stop 100 yard practice.

My distances are measured with a green laser that is supposedly accurate to 2 millimeters at 100 yards - so its an honest 75 yards from front of shooting table.

I'm doing the EPG thing where I show you ALL MY SHOTS. I don't profess to be a competition-grade sharpshooter, I'm just an enthusiast that's a competent trigger puller.

Up to this point in my airgunning, I have not found pellets that can consistently perform as well as JSB/FX/AA soft lead pellets - especially from an FX barrel.

However, these JTS 22.07 have been impressive. With this PowerPup I shot a 198 12X 40-Masters card on May 14th. If you haven't tried shooting a 40 yard Masters card, the 10-ring is 1/8" diameter and the X is 4/100" diameter. So my PowerPup seems to love this JTS pellet.

I shot a few groups - all shown. These little 22g pellets were grouping despite the wind at 75 yards. The 2nd to last group was an honest 1/2" edge-to-edge 5-shot group. I got so excited I accidentally shot a 6th shot at it - picked the wrong white dot to aim at.

After the groups, I thought - hey, lets see it I can keep all 5 shots on a 2" splatter at 75 yards - I did - see paper plate. Then I drew a 1/2" circle on the 2nd paper plate and tried to hit the circle with 10 shots.

So, the groups were shot at a single point of aim - the white dots. The plates I was holding off various distances to try to hit the center 1/2" spots.

When I get a less windy day, I'm going to try these JTS 22.07s at 100 yards. Pellets get "strained" out past 80 yards in my experience, but I've heard that these JTS 22.07s have a good "ballistic coefficient" - so I'm hopeful they hold up at 100.

Nice write up
I have been a fan of the 22.07 . They are a very accurate pellet
I am not familiar with the PowerPup, so i do not know if it has more FPS to spare, but i have found that these pellets like speed.
around 960-980 FPS have been outstanding at 100 yards and should tighten up your 75 yard groups ..nice shooting
the BC of the 22.07 is about .060 which is on par with a .30 cal ..these do well in the wind
Looking forward to seeing results from 100
Have fun
Mike
