JSB vs AEA

Took my FX Wildcat MK3 Compact in .22 to the range and shot some targets at 50 yards with both JSB 18.1 and AEA 18.3 gr pellets. The AEAs far outshot the JSBs which were always considered the gold standard. In fact, this rifle shot as well as the fancy-schmancy rimfires I've seen on some Youtube videos.

Hey Crow hunter! That is a great question. Cleaning the barrel between pellet types seems so basic. I wonder if our initial poster did that? You and I would.

The other thought is this,do not clean the barrel and shot 3-5 shots with the new pellet before grouping.AEA pellts shot better for me as well in some of my PCPs

I regularly shoot and compete in the 30 & 40Y paper target challenge thread. I have almost totally switched to AEA and JTS pellets with most of .22 cal rifles, because they are more accurate and score better. (I.e. Taipan Vet 2, FX Royale 400 ST, Daystate Revere, HW 100 Carbine, RAW HM1000X).

All of the above are scoring higher with AEA vs. JSB. The pellet quality ( especially the skirts ) is far better. Less bent skirts and less random fliers. Several of the regular participants have experienced similar results with AEA pellets.

I would not want to be shooting AEA 18.1g pellets at 50 yards or meters against these guys.
